10 Ways to Properly Monetize Your Niche Content Site

Monetize Your Niche Content SiteThere are many ways that you can make money with your niche content website, but here are the most successful programs and techniques:

1. Adsense

Adsense is by far the most popular program for making money from your website. It is very easy to setup and Google automatically displays relevant ads to display on your site based on the content of your site. Most ads that are displayed from Adsense are paid per click, but occasionally you will get ads that pay per impression. Adsense is my favorite program to start a site with, but it is not always the most profitable so testing is extremely important to maximize your profit potential.

2. Chitika

Chitika is similar to Adsense in that you get paid per click and they automatically display relevant ads, but the ads are based on search engine queries from search engine visitors. Even though Chitika is similar to Adsense, they are still both allowed to be on the same page.

3. Amazon Associates

Amazon offers many tools for creating ads to display on your website. You can create a simple link to a product or you can create your own store to display on your website. You can also create automatically updating banners with common sizes that will display the bestselling items from any category that you choose. Amazon will pay you a percentage of the sales that you generate.

4. Private Ad Sales

The best way for monetizing your website is with private ad sales. You can specify the ad location, size, and price for advertisers to purchase and you will be paid monthly for the advertising spot. This is typically the best solution because you are working directly with the advertiser and you receive all of the revenue, so both you as the website owner and the advertiser are getting a better deal than if there was a middleman.

5. Ebay Partner Network

The eBay Partner Network is similar to the Amazon Associates program only eBay is now paying per click instead of paying a percentage. The per click pricing is supposed to be based on the quality of traffic that you send to eBay.

6. Commission Junction

Commission Junction is a large affiliate network for some very popular brands. You apply to each company separately and then you have access to banners and text links to add to your website. Every company is different, but most pay a flat rate per lead or a percentage of your total sales. If you can find relevant companies to promote for your site, many times you can earn more per click from Commission Junction than you would through Adsense.

7. AzoogleAds

AzoogleAds is another affiliate network like Commission Junction, but they have a lot more offers that pay per lead. Offers that pay per lead often convert higher than offers that pay per sale and can be more profitable.

8. Tribal Fusion

Tribal Fusion is one of the many programs that will pay per impression. If you have a website that gets a lot of page views per visitor, then it would be a good idea to consider CPM ads. With a niche content site that relies on search engine traffic, you will most likely not use a program like this, but it could be a decent complement to your other ads.

9. ClickBank

ClickBank is a marketplace for digital products like eBooks. You will be paid a percentage of the sale price for every sale that you refer. A lot of the products for sale are full of hype and misleading, but there are some legitimate products that are worth promoting on your website. It would be worth looking through the marketplace for products related to your niche to check if there are any quality items to promote.

10. Miscellaneous Advertising Programs

Since you are covering niche topics, it is a good idea to find other websites in your general niche and look for products that you can feel proud to promote. You want to offer value to your visitors, so besides just adding quality, unique content to your site, you also need to display quality advertisements. Just make sure that it is something of genuine value and that relates to your niche.
